Casey Camilleri Marx - Web Strategy Director
Web Strategy · SEO & AEO · Conversion

I own web strategy end-to-end — from architecture and migrations to SEO, AEO, and the agencies that help execute it.

Director-level web strategist with a decade of enterprise site migrations, technical SEO, and conversion work across four B2B SaaS companies — directing agencies and developers, building hands-on when it counts, and now extending that same foundation into AEO and AI search visibility.

Based in Danville, CA — working remotely with teams across the US. I like clear ownership, clean data, and shipping things that actually move a number.

Backed by numbers, not vanity metrics

Every recommendation I make is tied to a number leadership actually cares about whether it's pipeline, conversion, cost per lead. It's never just rankings for their own sake.

I own outcomes, not just deliverables

I don't hand off a strategy and disappear. I set the roadmap, then either direct the agencies and developers executing it or build it myself, and stay accountable for what the numbers do afterward.

Where SEO is headed?

Beyond rankings: building for AI discoverability

Technical SEO has always been about one thing: making content legible to machines so the right humans find it. That discipline doesn't disappear in an AI-driven search landscape, it becomes the foundation for it.

Zero-click search is no longer an edge case, it's the default. Industry trackers now put it near 70% of all searches, and BrightEdge's analysis found that roughly half of tracked Google queries trigger an AI Overview. What's more telling is where AI engines pull their answers from: research on AI Mode citations found only about 12 to 14% overlap with a page's traditional top-10 ranking. Ranking and getting cited have become two different games, built on the same foundation: content a machine can parse, trust, and extract cleanly.

The structured data, entity clarity, and information architecture I've built for search engines for over a decade are exactly that foundation. My CoAd migration, rebuilding IA for 500+ pages from the ground up, was fundamentally an exercise in making content machine-readable at scale, the same discipline AI citation now rewards.

This is also a buyer-journey question, not just a technical one. More AI-native research tools are becoming a normal first stop before a brand's own website. A company whose content isn't structured to be found and cited there is getting filtered out of the conversation before a rep ever gets a call.

I'm not claiming years of AEO-specific experience, nobody has that yet; this space is still forming in real time. What I bring is the technical SEO foundation, the content architecture discipline, and a track record of adapting strategy as the discovery landscape shifts, four times over, across four companies.

A few things people ask me
Do you work hands-on, or is this all strategy and slides?

Both. I set the roadmap and the standards, but I've built pages, run the SEO audits, and configured the analytics myself at every company I've worked for.

Have you actually managed outside agencies, or just worked alongside them?

Directly managed, web development agencies at four companies (including a freelance developer at one), plus PPC agency partners at two. SEO strategy and execution I've always kept in-house, that's me. I set agency partners' strategy, reviewed their output, and held them to specific performance targets.

Remote or hybrid?

I've worked fully remote for the last several years with teams across the US. Happy to go hybrid if the role calls for it.

About me

Before web strategy, I was chasing pars. I played D2 women's golf at Notre Dame de Namur University, where I studied Business Management and Sports & Leisure — four years of early tee times, team travel, and learning that consistency beats talent most days. That's more or less still how I approach a website roadmap.

Outside of work, I'm based in Danville, CA. I am married, with a very good dog who thinks every video call is for her. I volunteer with the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano and donate blood regularly with the American Red Cross.
